You know these are not the best of times in India – worst job market in a decade, inflation on the rise, Rupee @ 65, a hamstrung government and it goes on and on….
But this post got me a little enthusiastic about India’s prospects – two people from Mumbai are building a solar dryer that enables food storage. Before you scoff at the ‘un-sexiness’quotient – remember that lack of appropriate storage infrastructure is responsible for wastage of 30-50% (depending on which statistic you believe) of our food production. Given the state we are in – this borders on the criminal!!
But instead of cursing the politicians like we all do, these two decided to actually build something. It’s refreshing to see innovation that does not involve social networking or videos.
