With all the ‘black days‘ and Christmas coming up, I was looking up revenues generated during this season and stumbled upon this excellent video on the first e-commerce transaction in the world by Shopify. Check it out :

Its interesting that at one point in the video, Shopify talks about a transaction in which a grandmother orders groceries from a store and pays cash when delivered. What’s interesting is that Shopify (and I presume e-commerce historians in general) don’t count this as a true e-commerce transaction because of offline payment! Isn’t that how most of Indian e-commerce works?
